It’s cyclical Ironically this is what they mean by “hard times create strong people” The moral bedrock shows up only when there is sufficient erosion It’s not a fun role to play, but it’s the most important once in this part of the cycle. And the parents that inculcated this morality ought to be proud

Gonna thread-jack. As the father of a 2yo, it's _really_ hard. What do I teach him? Who will be his heroes? What kind of environment do I choose for him? We shut down my startup and we're ok financially but not wealthy. I could relatively easily sacrifice my integrity and be financially set..but what does that do to me? To him? It's kind of a bullshit answer, but right now I'm running towards the chaos with a rope around my waste tied around my waist in the hopes that I can pull myself out of any depths I find myself in.

Right now, my answer rounds to sacrificing economic opportunity for character. We chose Okinawa > Tokyo, Japan > America. For nursery school, we chose nature/character > study. Okinawa itself is a mixed bag...US military bases and the highest number of centenarian juxtaposed with the unhealthiest youth in Japan.

And I've only been "in crypto" for about 10 months, all on Farcaster. I've played with trading/farming a bit to understand it but have to turn off my conscience to do it right, and am generally not willing to. The only circle I've been able to square so far (other than simply building) is "find cool tech early and buy into it. sell when it's mature enough for the sale to not matter." Of course, this makes me exit liquidity for those who care less.
