just wanted to share some thoughts from a fairweather farcasterer: if i'm being brutally honest, the thing that brought me back to farcaster the last two times is "money making opportunities" last time it was degen, this time it's all the ai coin stuff yes i do love the platform, i love the innovation, i love the high(er) signal to noise ratio here, the fewer bots, the nicer vibes, the infinitely better customer service, the cool shit and experimentation that's always happening, the curation elements with channels + a global feed, and on and on and on but i've *always* struggled with being active both here + on twitter, and for better or worse always end up defaulting back to twitter as it not only fills my "crypto info" tank, but also "the rest of the world" stuff i'm so bullish on farcaster and i *really really really* hope it succeeds over a multi-decade time horizon - and maybe my not being as active here as on twitter is not helping the cause - but well it is what it is, ty for coming to my ted talk

Has your experience on Twitter degraded at all? Thanks for your candor and I think it’s ok/ understandable in your case to be fair weather. But good to see you pop back here and hope you keep coming back more and more often

Tbh, there was a period where Farcaster became quite tiresome and difficult to navigate. I think this was partly driven by $MOXIE and moxie farmers which resulted in quite a bit of unnatural interactions. The price stagnation of other farcaster coins such as $Degen and $tn100x did not help as well. Innovation is what really shines on this platform - tipping, frames and now AI Agents and it’s so exciting to see what’s happening and to experience it firsthand. Oh, btw, here’s my Denizen!

Heard I think Farcaster wins once it doesn't feel like its competition to twitter Many people will have a better time posting and engaging on warpcast than they will on twitter But Farcaster needs to be something different for the people who's experience is (and will be) the opposite Farcaster has the potential to be a cornerstone of every cryptonative application & until that vision is realized, it's growth and adoption will be tempered and "at odds" with the status quo

First, I would think your honesty is helpful - knowing what brings back the attention of folks with more social clout. That being said, my reasons for being here are different. For those who are creating and building, but don't have the social capital built up, Twitter can feel like yelling into the void. On farcaster, the channels (those "cozy corners") wind up being a smaller group of people with shared interests, and interactions are easier and more authentic. I enjoy it more than Twitter. I also think there is an opportunity for "channel entrepreneurs". Facebook has over 1B users participating in Groups. What is missing from these groups is ownership and shared upside for participating and growing the community or group. I believe this is a huge opportunity if we get it right. My belief is that, long term, farcaster is the place to be for builders and creators. Short term though...I think it is okay to cycle in and out until you see the value for your time and attention. 🤷‍♂️

I agree about “rest of the world stuff”. There is a bit of it here on various channels but it’s not the news source Twitter can be. Even crypto-wise, this app is so heavily slanted towards Base that I don’t know what’s going on with art events on Tezos, or what’s happening with Bitcoin, etc. Farcaster’s a nice world but it’s a very small one.
