Absolutely, I said it! Robert De Niro’s acting leaves much to be desired, often falling flat. I tolerated it until he started showing his true colors. Now, you won't find any of his work playing in my family’s homes.

Inference time scaling actually makes a lot of sense at the end of the day. It does feel like Reinforcement Learning (RL) like, child psychology, or just how children learn about the world at times Reward based learning (I'll give you a treat if you do this right), reward shaping (I'll give you a treat if you do this the way I say it and get it right) exploration vs exploitation, learning through trial and error, imitation learning (here's how to do things because I'm an expert), world models (a mental map of how the world works) A great example of transfer learning that I'm reminded of (that book Range? I think its from that I read many years ago) is Roger Federer not even doing Tennis until a later age. He picked up a bunch of different sports, and essentially the transfer learning that happened - feels similar to RL agents taking knowledge from one place and applying it in another without fully losing it

Ah yes the “Bitcoin crashes to $95k” narrative has arrived 🙄 Again: In 2017 “Bitcoin crashes to $3k” 2022 “Bitcoin crashes to $20k” 2024 “Bitcoin crashes to $60k” What will it “crash” to next?

29 Seconds of Farcaster.... What did you miss this weekend? The hangover started early as the degen ban vibes carried into Friday night & Saturday. We did get some thoughtful positive sum posts led by @abundance @dwr.eth got everybody excited for next week & then posted his first ITAP...coincidence? In Rewards news, @swampnet quit her job & stopped eating & sleeping to commit to staying in the top 5. @yoyo-app made a brief appearance but as quickly as it appeared it seemed to disappear from sight & feeds. 🤷‍♂️ In a twist, the most NBA talk on FC took place as The Lakers got a top 5 player for a unibrow & some ozempic--banger post by @garrett comparing Luca to James Corden. @davidtphung wasn't laughing. It was a little slower than normal (which says something) but it was still a fun weekend for the FC Network State casual hang. Uh, late breaking Sun Night news: Everybody sold everything. Now, start your week right w/ @adrienne & @nounishprof for the (slightly) more serious stuff. 8:30 EST

why i think in crypto you are directionally better off being more liberal about trying new things, and fade less stuff that you haven't tried yet from the user/speculator pov

users care about the certainty of many guarantees offered by blockchains ("you control these funds", "this app can't steal your username"), and decentralization (of different kinds) is part of what makes those guarantees hard https://x.com/ayyyeandy/status/1882705439571534004
