Sometimes—or dare I say always—when things don’t go as planned, it’s because something even better is waiting to happen. When Lethu and I met, the perfectly overcast sky suddenly gave way to an unrelenting, merciless sun. None of the visuals I had pictured came to life—the sun was too harsh, Lethu couldn’t float as we had envisioned, and the lilies were gone.
