As BTC custody continues centralizing to a few ETFs, CEXs, institutions, in the long term >50% of BTC will be held by a handful of organisations Might as well just cancel PoW and move to PoA at that point. It would actually be *more decentralized* as PoW will inevitably centralize over to a handful of industrial players and pools due to crippling economies of scale. Plus, it'll solve the security budget problem. I've spent the last few months in deep conversation with the @coinbase listings team on how they can better support and lift up builders, whether it's on @base or any other chain (L1, L2, everywhere) There's a difference between what Coinbase wants to list, and what they're able to list, based on their status as a regulated exchange — but the team understands the lack of clarity and frustration and are committed to making the process better. I know it's slow and I'm frustrated too — but me and the team are going to keep working until its fixed.
