I think if by blockchain you mean git, absolutely. That's what I've done at UH Cancer Center. Also working on CancerDB.com, also on Git. I do not think you need it on a public distributed open ledger though—I think git is enough.

imo the problem is not the tech stack. it is the lack of willingness to open such data which then reflects in form of poor infra, tech and related regs. idk if I want my personal health info out in the open like a blockchain either — sounds scary b/c gateway to genetic profiling

I think it’s inevitable, but still a few years away. It took solid decade after the HITECH Act for mass EHR adoption and the era of digital health.

Cool idea Requires a lot of front-end engineering on token gates, permissions, security, hipaa compliance etc but the pain point is very real
