ok the fast approval of EIP-7514 actually makes me question the ethereum credible neutrality for the first time ever if this goes live in Dencun, it clearly shows that the core devs can push changes to the network at will

what are the milestones that need to be hit or what is the amount of time for an EIP to be in discussion that would not make you feel this way?

1/2 good q, im asking myself this question as well i don't have a good answer myself — i feel like thus far things were achieved after few months of EIPs sitting in github, random people had a chance to look at them and people like @sassal.eth or @evanvanness would cover them in their content

2/2 obviously hard to measure, but id guess an average EIP gets at least 10k eyeballs before being included ofc not everything is reviewed carefully enough, but there is a spirit of keeping each other in check maybe im not old enough to remember how things were done at the beginning, but now this feels way too fast

This one definitely did fly under the radar a bit in “mainstream” ETH discourse. You would have needed to be close to the ACD calls to follow progress over the last month. Christine does a great write up: https://www.galaxy.com/insights/research/ethereum-all-core-developers-consensus-call-117/
