“Users don’t care about X decentralization or Y security or Z privacy feature!!” Right. Like they don’t care if their computer’s kernel is secure. They don’t care until something goes wrong. It’s our job to care for them.

But…if you optimize for the most secure kernel and no one uses it, who cares? Base pragmatic approach to decentralizing the chain, i.e. important but not a blocker to progress, is a good example of this?

Yeah, it’s always tough to know where to draw the line. Was trying to make the point, “users don’t talk about this” does not mean it’s not important or worth caring about.

Exactly. Do we have to have everything perfect before we can start using it? No, of course not. Can we throw entire concepts out the window just because users don't know that they should care? No, of course not.
