“Users don’t care about X decentralization or Y security or Z privacy feature!!” Right. Like they don’t care if their computer’s kernel is secure. They don’t care until something goes wrong. It’s our job to care for them.

But…if you optimize for the most secure kernel and no one uses it, who cares? Base pragmatic approach to decentralizing the chain, i.e. important but not a blocker to progress, is a good example of this?

I drive a car but know zero about car maintenance or how they work at a detailed level. TBH I don’t care. I’ll buy a car, get it maintained when it needs to be, then drive till it’s dead. BUT if I buy a new car and all the wheel nuts haven’t been screwed on tightly, you’re damn right I’m going to care…
