The tension between “think long and hard about the why” and “just build, build, build” is strong.

What do you mean “think long and hard about the why?” I certainly feel tension between “build, iterate, build” and “long term strategy/vision” - hard to do both at the same time. I find it helpful to block time for long term thinking.

That’s another way of putting it. Yeah, blocking time for that is a good idea. How long do you normally block off for long-term thinking?

3-4 hours at a time. Will try and do at the times of day when I'm sharpest or most creative (morning or late afternoon). Can be helpful to do in Q&A format. Also think it is good to check in on them every few weeks.
