I'm trying to get more educated on US politics and would love your help...

What do you think the Biden administration has done a good job on over the last few years?

- Got out of Afghanistan
- Mostly ended drone strikes
- Helped Ukraine defend itself and destroy the massive Russian army which was a threat to everybody without enlarging the war beyond Ukraine or risking nuclear war

I asked some other groups and here were their comments (verbatim):

- Comprehensive infrastructure bill, investing $1.2tn into long neglected projects 
- ⁠CHIPS act - good for semis? 
- ⁠inflation reduction act. Better health insurance, gave gov ability to negotiate with pharma, large investments in climate

- ⁠Ukraine - brought together democratic countries to support Ukraine for 2 years (this is faltering now due to GOP) 
- ⁠Covid rescue plan (both health and economic issues)
- Child Tax Credit (which cut child poverty in half, then expired, but as of last night is likely coming back)

- ⁠codified LGBTQ rights
- ⁠appointed 30% more judges compared to Obama at this point (slightly under Trump pace)
- ⁠pardoned all federal marijuana offenses (still requires states to do similar)
- ⁠Has pursued a diversified energy strategy such that the U.S. is now the top oil producer in the world

- ⁠passed minor bipartisan gun legislation
- Signed PACT act to expand healthcare access to veterans who were exposed to burn pits  
- ⁠Cap Prescription drug prices for seniors on medicare (e.g. $35/mo for insulin)
- ⁠Accession of Sweden and Finland into NATO
- ⁠Gun legislation included $10B for mental health

I would love your take on these - I moved to the US recently and haven't been wowed by Biden Admin but I would love to learn from more informed perspectives!

I can’t think of anything significant that really improved the life’s of Americans. There were good parts in the Inflation Act and the infrastructure bill. But nothing that really jumped out to me. Everything else he did has expired.

Your subjective perspective is good enough! 

I just haven’t heard many takes on where people think the Biden Administration has been effective - that may be the bias of my social circle and so I wanted to check with this community.
