Putin's proposal from yesterday speech: Ukraine withdraws forces from administrative borders of 4 regions, takes neutrality (+ other stuff negotiated during initial peace talks at Istanbul), recognised all annexed and conquered territories including Crimea as part of Russia. Basically a peace treaty. wdyt?

It's not a serious proposal, it's just there to sucker the dumbest people in western countries into thinking he has a peace proposal. Ukraine is supposed to give up their own territory that Putin never held (wtf), and disarm themselves. What do you think happens after they disarm themselves?

Even if Ukraine would be desperate enough to accept it, don’t think Russia will stop there

Now we know what's Russia's "maximalist" negotiating position. Russia holds about 17.5% of Ukraine's territory. If Ukraine agrees to this deal (which they won't) that would give Russia about 22.5% of Ukraine. To put it in perspective, I believe less than 0.1% of Ukraine's territory changed hands since end of 2022.
