Degen spent $1M worth of $degen in S11 while only 565 new wallets received the token. Meanwhile, Impact Fund in its first Season alone is distributing $degen to 1460 impact makers on Farcaster, including 61(!) users who currently don't have a wallet connected to Farcaster... and we're just a small project that barely gets any recognition either on Farcaster or on /degen @jacek noted that "We need to ensure DEGEN’s distribution is efficient, sustainable, and actually driving growth" Well, /impact and @impactfund are proving to be the most effective way to drive real growth for both Degen and Farcaster. /impact curators ensure that only quality content is rewarded, not farming or T4T. The Impact Movement will continue to prove that the Proof of Impact narrative is much stronger than merely looking at engagement. Let's continue building the impact = profit economy ✊

Impact Fund launched less than a month ago and we're now #15 on the degen.tips leaderboard. First, I'd like to thank everyone who is Auto-Funding! It's through your collective effort that we can reward 2400+ creators (& curators) on Farcaster Second, we're continuing in our mission to create an impact = profit economy on Farcaster. The first phase of that is having more tips flowing to builders & creators on Farcaster based on their impact. The next phase, once Impact Fund operates on a greater scale, would be to have a positive effect on the value of $degen. The economics here are straightforward: when more $degen goes toward impactful contributions, more users have an incentive to contribute & build great things on Farcaster (& within the Degen economy). This creates more interest for quality users to join Farcaster & participate in the Degen economy, which drives demand for $degen. This is how we create the "impact = profit" feedback we so desperately need here. LFG!

Few people understand that their Degen allowance is actually a form of decentralized governance - if they tip people who contribute value to the Farcaster (& Degen) ecosystem the value of their (locked) Degen increases. If they T4T or tip those extracting value they're devaluing their (locked) Degen. The more effectively Degens can contribute to those creating value, the more ecosystem growth we'd get, as well as growth for $degen. /impact is one of the most aligned projects in the ecosystem to both Degen and Farcaster growth. It serves as a form of "collective intelligence"; dozens of curators proactively looking for the most impactful content on Farcaster, so that users can maximize the impact of their daily allowance (by Auto-Funding and Multi-Tipping on /impact) and everyone in the ecosystem has an incentive to create the most impactful (and not just farm engagement). These are the kinds of feedback loops we need to grow Farcaster and increase $degen's value.

New milestone unlocked: Impact Alpha has now distributed 1.5M $degen and 1M $ham to almost 1800 creators on Farcaster for their impactful contribution to the network. If we want less farming and more tips going into the wallets of those who contribute to the Farcaster ecosystem we need tools and mechanisms that make it easy to reward impact and difficult to farm. That's how we grow.

In the age of AI, the Read-Write-Own narrative for content is dead. AI doesn't care if you tokenize your art, writing, or data. It's not going to buy your NFT. It will just extract all the value from your work, while you sit there with an empty bag. The solution to this lies in programming incentive structures based on an impact=profit model, so that it's more profitable for AI (or a network) to reward people based on their contribution than to try and extract value for free. How can paying for something be more profitable than getting it for free?! Because of the network effects you're creating; If Bitcoin didn't reward miners for their work, but just took the PoW hashes for free it wouldn't have $2T+ in value. Yet, it's meaningless to say that a Bitcoin miner *owns* a block; what matters is that they *earn* money for mining it.

Quick points on the coming Impact Fund distribution to creators & curators (as well as the Special Impact Fund) Some of you already checked the frame with your expected Season 1 rewards - these rewards are *estimates* - why? Because we're not going to know exactly how much $degen we have in the fund until claim day. This is especially relevant given that a whole bunch of tips were removed from the system and are now being reviewed by the Degen team (see quotecast) Tip Explorer (https://tipexplorer.lum0x.com/user/904545) is currently showing @impactfund has 221,173 $degen, while degen.tips is showing 202,876. Our internal data is closer to Tip Explorer; we're taking proper auto-funding casts made in the system and subtracting any tips marked invalid by degen.tips API. After all invalid tips are isolated at season end, the final distribution to each sub-fund will be adjusted proportionately, based on what @impactfund claims.
