Wrote this about cultivated meat a while ago. I was a little naive about the scaling challenges these companies face, but I still believe they’ll succeed one day and the world will be a much better place. https://open.substack.com/pub/danberger/p/how-cultivated-meat-can-save-the?r=2cuwb&utm_medium=ios&utm_campaign=po

I’m not vegetarian but think you’re 100% correct that future generations will look back at the meat industry in shock & disgust (think they’ll be flabbergasted we drove our own cars too!). It’ll take longer than 20 yrs though for a full shift to lab-grown meat. Given it addresses some concerns will you try lab

Yes. I’d like to try lab grown meat. It theoretically solves both of my issues: 1) ethical 2) environmental. Look forward to that day!

I feel like I’ve seen Beyond Burgers on menus much more often lately. Haven’t tried one yet, though. What’s it going to take to encourage more meat-eaters to take the leap and try lab-grown meat?

The price will have to come way down and it’ll have to look/taste very similar to slaughtered meat. I think a big selling point for a lot of ppl will be cleanliness too. Slaughtered meat needs blood/urine/feces rinsed off, huge risk of bacterial contamination, cultivated meat is grown aseptically from day 1.
