I am almost done with FALL and a little confused as to why it’s not more popular. It touches on themes (decentralized identity, subjective nature of reality, transhumanism and eternal life) that are super popular! It’s been a while but I remember the first half being interesting and the second fairly tedious, but my main complaint is it’s just so much worse than Stephenson’s early works which are some of my favorite books

I am desperate to finish so I can get on to the next and you are correct all the interesting stuff is front loaded 😂 the futuristic thinking I loved. The fantasy novel bitworld plot losing me. I would say it’s a bad book just bc of its draggy-ness but the beginning was so cool I’m willing to forgive a lot
