I am almost done with FALL and a little confused as to why itās not more popular. It touches on themes (decentralized identity, subjective nature of reality, transhumanism and eternal life) that are super popular! Itās been a while but I remember the first half being interesting and the second fairly tedious, but my main complaint is itās just so much worse than Stephensonās early works which are some of my favorite books

I am desperate to finish so I can get on to the next and you are correct all the interesting stuff is front loaded š the futuristic thinking I loved. The fantasy novel bitworld plot losing me. I would say itās a bad book just bc of its draggy-ness but the beginning was so cool Iām willing to forgive a lot
