I am desperate to finish so I can get on to the next and you are correct all the interesting stuff is front loaded 😂 the futuristic thinking I loved. The fantasy novel bitworld plot losing me. I would say it’s a bad book just bc of its draggy-ness but the beginning was so cool I’m willing to forgive a lot

It’s been a while but I remember the first half being interesting and the second fairly tedious, but my main complaint is it’s just so much worse than Stephenson’s early works which are some of my favorite books

I spent the entire day ignoring responsibilities and finished it. Painfully. It turns into Lord of the Rings esque weird journey in the Bitworld lololol

I also have yet to finish this book. The first half is engrossing, the second is super obtuse.

I thought this book was great. I dug the religious themes. Haven’t ever met anyone else who’s liked it.

Closely watching the new year market open makes me think I am worshipping the gods of technology like in american gods
