Bots are going to be first class citizens of the internet. But that makes the magic of the internet that much more potent.

I completely agree. Bots are everywhere and the internet needs a platform like this where you can verifiably confirm you’re speaking to a human at the other end.

Farcaster and other evolving apps do not fit into this theory. Also, The same could have been said about TV in the 80s and 90s and radio and newspapers before that. A certain degree of manipulation of mass media was always there, no need for new conspiracy theories specific to the internet.

Looking at how 90% of responses that are supposed to come from genuine people are what you would call "npc", I categorically agree with the theory.

I think that forums and any method of communication that finds a way to promote/guarantee true authenticity will pop off in the next 3-5 years.

Classic "truthiness". There's lots artificial activity and curation, some entities use that to manipulate people. They also use human created content to do the same. If anything, it makes for a better argument that the internet is more alive than ever.
