I started a practice of writing weeknotes a few weeks ago. I've done this for nine weeks so far, and I'm looking forward to keeping the streak going! I did this because I wanted to pay attention to my attention. It's just too easy to doom scroll your way into different rabbit holes. But by having this weekly practice of taking a step back and selecting just five pieces that I've read that week, it's helped me to create a set of waypoints that I can come back to at any point. When I was at the @gatesfoundation, I worked on improving people's access to digital financial services. One thing I picked up along the way was noticing how people paid for things. And once you see it, you see it everywhere. We modify and adapt objects and systems all the time.

So much of web3 social has looked like cloning existing web2 services. I can't wait to see novel experiences that are only possible with web3 tech, but let's say that the only way to get there is by cloning what we already know. If that's true, what are we cloning next?
