here's how it went from my perspective: > shadi worms her way into my feed > starts encouraging me (softly, but persistently) to get hyped > keeps trying to get me hyped (I don't lol) > finally shares the website; as promised, I read it > ask Shadi to remove Degen iconography (hats everywhere) > she seems weirdly desperate for my approval and for DEGEN's participation; I decline, pending an actual product and not just some ponzu with extra steps > she removes Degen logo (mostly) from website > I promise to revisit JRI once they have a... product... and not just a dubious financing mechanism. > fast forward a couple of weeks, the project is doing well ostensibly (ie, the token price is up only for /reasons/) > shadi circles back around to me for an "investment of 10k" > I decline, again. Something is... off. Either they're incompetent or... > they rug

it was a long con, too. as far as crypto goes. i had engaged with shadi for a couple months prior to ever hearing of JRI, so i joined the discord but told her/them i couldn't endorse the project, wished best of luck, thought that was that. then i saw a fake endorsement with my name on it. which was mixed emotions -- on one hand, SCAM BAD! on the other, hey look ma, i made it! ;) glad you avoided any losses

Flipping heck... She reached out to me to help them do some info graphics for their roadmap a while back. I'm pretty busy with my own projects at the mo and I don't like been connected with any financial hypes so thankfully I gave it a miss. Also seeing Latin placeholders on their site after clicking read more was a bit of a red flag but I am a little surprised as "She" seemed genuine.

I didn't get contacted by shadi, but another one of the team who used a banana profile picture they asked me to read their project, telling me it was something like gofundme. I replied saying "This isn't a crowd funding platform. This is a crowd fund" He replied, "It's okay. The 10 OGs would never steal .1e" and I stopped communication. I should have spoken out about it, apparently

A few weeks back I was engaged to assist with their Japanese interpretation on their X space as a job which I took on light heartedly. The operation seemed chaotic at best, with even organising a time to congregate for the Space was down to the wire. While I did seperate myself from the project and stated I was not involved in the project and was just translating, I still have my name tagged in their posts which is a bit of a blemish on my records now. Oh well Also, I’m still to receive any remuneration, but I can chalk that up to experience I guess. I had an inkling maybe nothing would come of it, and I think those feelings were pretty much right on.

Yep, looks like it. Token arriving before even a small mvp of a product is always a bad sign. Asking for investment when there's clearly been no spend to date is an even worse sign.
