Juicy tip (up to a reasonable limit) to whomever can fairly summarize $farther's launch, historic changes, recent tweaks, and today's capitulation. Not fishing or dishing. Just the facts please. (I don't follow further) Also GM and happy Monday πΏπ

GM wake - You had me at Juicy. I think people have already gone through the situation pretty well. I joined a bit later the tipping game, but did the twitter posting and they cancelled it so I thought that was a bit strange. I bought the tokens when they were worth a lot more, but I guess it's all a gamble anyway. They started changing the tipping rules throughout the seasons, which made me sell all mine last week because I saw no value in it anymore.

can you open up that last bit? what about the tipping rule changes made you disinvest so aggressively? also curious on your take as an artist participant. everyone else is tacitly griping about price action.

they would not allow any art in the main feed β only art from 2-3 names. the artists were really disappointed. the tipping rules were even worse. Not being able to tip a person twice or you could not tip a person that tipped you. so then if you did β you lost those tokens (maybe the point to have a ton of overflow - pretty dishonest), but also so annoying. no one could remember the rules from one week to the next

I never bought into it as it was expensive and I didn't trust it to succeed. I sold off the earlier airdrops for power badge and evangelizing on X. But when tipping started, I reconsidered and starting holding the tips I earned (but I didn't have an allowance yet since I wasn't willing to buy in). But what Mikko said about the tipping changes in early August made me change my mind as everyone thought those rules were ridiculous. It was too time-consuming to consider all the rules when tipping and I saw tips from friends that were invalid because of it. So I bailed out back then. I didn't see it ending well. He did remove those rules a few days ago, but then killed it the rest of the way by saying tipping would be discontinued. There didn't seem to be any other utility besides tipping that I could see.

afaik 75% of the tips had to go to those who were not yet eligible to tip - which meant that all the ones I was tipping were deemed not valid. and because the token kept on going down, there was no point in me going full day searching for those who were not yet eligible.
