Juicy tip (up to a reasonable limit) to whomever can fairly summarize $farther's launch, historic changes, recent tweaks, and today's capitulation. Not fishing or dishing. Just the facts please. (I don't follow further) Also GM and happy Monday 🍿🌞

Here's my farther summary I got the power drop in April 8k farther was $300 The next month, 8k farther became $30 when only powerbadge holders claimed. Few days later, tipping announcement came, at that point 100k farther was $600 People bought, there was no building announcement, just tips, so of course washing increased Come June, 100k farther was $178 Close to the end of July, 100k farther peaked to $340(that should have been a selling point apparently) Come claim day, 100k farther ran down to $90 but quickly went up to $171 August started out, farther started going to hell with its steady announcement and rules💀 $125 to $89 to $63 to $44 to $25 Then they dropped some book that they would stop tipping and blah blah blah This is where we are now $8.7 Gm and Happy Monday🌞

appreciate the transparency gigamesh and team have provided im just noting the communities reaction to genuine apologies and people who try try. i only made money off farther so my bias is definitely to lean towards defending but ive been pretty critical about their execution. sucks to see

Long story short, remember our chitchat about the tipping games falling down one after another, and only Degen and maybe Ham staying after all? Well, that happened. xD Also, GM, happy Monday, and happy dogs' day! 🤎

From what I gather they kept making changes during this season to try I get rid of the tipping being abused / farmed. And I guess people finally had enough! I still hold like 140k+ farther.

GMGM~ Happy monday~ I don't want a tip, I'm just saying. I hadn't participated in Farther tipping before, but after observing its progress and seeing efforts to improve the tipping system in a positive direction, I recently joined. However, it's very disappointing to see this happen. Losing trust.

GM wake - You had me at Juicy. I think people have already gone through the situation pretty well. I joined a bit later the tipping game, but did the twitter posting and they cancelled it so I thought that was a bit strange. I bought the tokens when they were worth a lot more, but I guess it's all a gamble anyway. They started changing the tipping rules throughout the seasons, which made me sell all mine last week because I saw no value in it anymore.

Farther launched with an airdrop to all power badge holders which started it off with a bit of good reputation here cause it was like a $400 airdrop for most people. They also had an influencer reward program that would give you a lot of farther for tweeting about it. After the initial launch, it became fairly evident that the influencer reward program was just being farmed by low effort tweets so it was limited to 1 tweet per cycle and then ultimately scrapped. It didn’t initially launch with tipping, but that was a demand from a large part of the userbase so it was implemented. It soon became evident that tip traders were just value extracting so the rules were changed again to a sort of prediction martket where tips earned rewards based on the receivers increase in open rank. Encouraging you to tip people who were adding value. This system was in place for the - month and showed progress, but the value extraction was still happening and the damage was done. Yesterday, gigamesh threw in the towel.

Summary as far as I have been able to discern: Creator saw degen hype several months ago, thought he could do better, created Farther, lot of people bought in when the lock amount was worth about $300. People tipped a lot, but it wasn't going the way creator thought it should, so he changed the rules. Then did it again. And again. Then last night, lowest engagement period of the week BTW, posted under the farther account that he was suspending tipping, earned tips will be vested similar to Moxie, and the value tanked even more than it had - it's now down to $10 for that same amount of locked tokens for the allowance. The project will be turned over to a community DAO, etc. Speculation is that he rugged, but I suspect he just got in over his head and it didn't go the way he expected cuz economics is complicated.

GM Wake For me it was a no brainer to get in farther when I got airdropped basically $80 for doing nothing I wasn't even active with the project I also made about $150 by betting on some tickets on wild card early on that basically fueled me to buy the remainder I spent about $280 to start tipping at first there wasn't any rules But then they started tweaking shit that you couldn't post AI generated content and that it favored you more to tip others with no allowance That backfired because they changed the rules again... That you could only tip a percentage of your allowance to one person It made it super stressful and annoying and @gigamesh still had the guts to reply to me that it was "easy peasy"

Gm wake In summary: they got proper momentum and stopped listening to the community, started making rules almost every single day which made it even more difficult to tip The community got tired and most decided to start leaving Then he made a poll talking about vesting which majority said no to and they decided they’d go ahead with it anyway Hence the fall of farther

I joined farther early and stop after season 1. People always want to get back their investment(token requirement to alble to tip) so farmers are inevitable. I chatted with giga sometimes in early day and I know he put time and his own money too to improve lp pool, and pretty sure he lost money in the end.

It’s was supposed to be an influencer token only available to powerbadge holder for airdrop, to get more you were supposed to go on x and shill every 2 days. After drop it had some network effect here, many friends were using it. The downfall imo was the dev got weird about tipping rules, too many to list tbh. Also was really defensive when the community reached out. No flywheels or utility didn’t help as well Token price drives sentiment as well so as that faded, so did it
