Voting today in NYC kind of red-pilled me. No ID or proof of residency needed, no pic of me in their system, just name+address+signature, all of which plenty of people could find. Millions are victims of identity theft yearly. This is way easier. Should I vote for my brothers?

if you don't actually believe it's secure, go for it. Might get you arrested tho (fwiw i am not anti voter id laws, but i am p skeptical of significant fraud w/i the current system)

Fair, law is deterrent, but identity theft is very illegal too and happens a ton. Comes down to incentives. Is there any adversarial country that’d pay $1k/vote in swing counties? What about $500? Because I’m sure people would go vote for their siblings or friends abroad for $500

i actually don’t think there are that many people who would commit fraud for such a low number. your money is far better spent on eg ads and other legal methods to sway voters than trying to source individuals in swing states to take on such a massive risk (how do you avoid getting caught trying to source that many individuals? you will absolutely leave a paper trail) much easier to catch voter fraud than identity theft — the fraud has to submit a vote at the end of the day! the system is very closely scrutinized by both parties and while it’s not perfect the margin for error is far far lower than the vote spread btw don’t forget fox settled with dominion for A BILLION dollars after last election for defamation. trump lied as much as he could, pushed every lever he could, and there was no smoking gun anyone could find at the end of the day. if you think there’s some incredibly well orchestrated conspiracy happening well,, that i can’t help you with. everyone here is as dumb as they look

also if some sophisticated foreign govt was meddling with our elections and the cia, fbi, and nsa all didn’t notice…… we’d have far bigger issues at hand
