You never know the real reasons behind a success but you can always tell what caused a failure. Much safer to get advise and learnings from failed startups. "In the early days of Google/Facebook/Coinbase we did it like this", means very little. I'm 99% sure many others did exactly the same thing and failed miserably.

Same goes with successful artists who explain you how they reached fame and success and tell you to do the same. Most of the time they were at the right place at the right time. And or knew the right people. Not saying they are not talented. But that there is millions of as talented artists who were not as lucky.
