I've been doing variations of this most of my adult life and I agree it's not just the best way to start your day, but the best way to maintain your body as you age. When you develop introspective awareness of your body & joints this becomes more natural and you don't have to do such a prescriptive "routine".

Sounds like you're pretty intuitive! It's also quite the mind fuck to try and move 1 joint in a very deep way without anything else moving! The neuro control is a very interesting thing to brush up against...

25 years of practice with 10+ PT experts and multiple back surgeries... One could say it has been a bit of a focus in my life. I have a degenerative condition in my spine but I learned early on that motion is lotion so I've made sure to not lose a degree of mobility despite the challenges. And you aren't kidding!
