I'm really proud that ethereum does not have any culture of trying to prevent people from speaking their minds, even when they have very negative feelings toward major things in the protocol or ecosystem. Some wave the ideal of "open discourse" as a flag, some take it seriously.

Exactly what I was thinking yesterday - even if Peter was right on every point, at the very least be was able to speak up about it from within the system and not get crucified, but appreciated.

I strongly agree with this approach. As a leader, I have always solicited honest feedback. You like to hear positive feedback, but neutral or negative feedback really helps you understand where others may see opportunities for improvement.
