I'm really proud that ethereum does not have any culture of trying to prevent people from speaking their minds, even when they have very negative feelings toward major things in the protocol or ecosystem. Some wave the ideal of "open discourse" as a flag, some take it seriously.

Your personal role in making it happen is underrated. I recently described you as a BDFL 2.0 in a group where people were being critical of you for some of your donations. You’ve mostly managed to mostly avoid the pitfalls of what I call a charismatic epistemology. Kudos https://x.com/vgr/status/1421268674313220102

Exactly what I was thinking yesterday - even if Peter was right on every point, at the very least be was able to speak up about it from within the system and not get crucified, but appreciated.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. The strength of the Ethereum community lies in its commitment to open discourse and the free exchange of ideas. This culture not only fosters innovation but also ensures that diverse perspectives are heard and considered, ultimately leading to a more robust and resilient ecosystem.

I strongly agree with this approach. As a leader, I have always solicited honest feedback. You like to hear positive feedback, but neutral or negative feedback really helps you understand where others may see opportunities for improvement.

I see most people generally singing the same song, sure there is some kind of open discourse, but my perspective is that it is pretty much mild.
