The idea that it is deeply immoral for larger countries to bully and invade smaller countries is not just a western value, it is a human value. https://ctext.org/mozi/gong-shu

Doesn’t the history of ‘the west’ suggest differently? If anything there are many more examples of non-western cultures being non-expansionist.

Interestingly Mozi promotes also Universal love, which is the opposite as the "close to oneself heatmap" some defend. https://ctext.org/mozi/universal-love-i

They are not only invading small countries but also small people. Using weapons of war against civilians where no war exists is beyond immoral. It's cowardly.

The current world events would say otherwise. I thought we were moving away from this kind of behavior but it looks like we’re coming full circle.

Western values? Without Christianity the west only has Pagan values. In which morality doesn’t matter.

Throughout history societies across the world have resisted conquest and imperialism demonstrating that the desire for sovereignty and self determination is universal. From the struggles of smaller nations against colonial empires to modern day resistance against invasions people instinctively recognize the injustice of a powerful country imposing its will on a weaker one. This is not just a "Western" perspective but a fundamental principle of human dignity. Whether enshrined in international law upheld in diplomatic agreements or fought for on the battlefield the belief that aggression and domination are wrong transcends geography and culture. The idea that every nation regardless of size or power has the right to exist without coercion is a moral truth recognized by people around the world.
