This is not just a "Western" perspective but a fundamental principle of human dignity. Whether enshrined in international law upheld in diplomatic agreements or fought for on the battlefield the belief that aggression and domination are wrong transcends geography and culture. The idea that every nation regardless of size or power has the right to exist without coercion is a moral truth recognized by people around the world.
