How many of you have deleted your X account vs just deactivating it or not using it?

Had not thought about this, perhaps the best argument yet for keeping it

apparently if you delete it, people can steal the name and impersonate you with no repercussions

Did you use any special software to delete all of your messages?

Been trying to get it banned but failing so far.

Deleted all my messages and unfollowed (nearly) everyone though.

Yeah feel the same, I'm as conflicted about it as when I entirely deleted my FB accounts

Not sure if my life is better or worse after it, still in touch with good friends, less aware about what people are upto in my broader network or even distant relatives—but also don't care to know

Twitter is different in that respect, lots of interesting things from people you don't know so its hard to wean off

still use it every few days. many friends are still there and there are too many good posts related to my field and interests

Most of the CT is active on X so its not possible for me to not use it. while I am bullish on farcaster, cnt forget my roots

With the exception of a post I made last week, its been practically inactive for the last year. Every few months there seems to be a new exodus, but those with large enough audiences are understandably reluctant to migrate entirely.

I don't really use it to reply anymore, and the few times I've bothered I have regretted it.

I still read a carefully curated list occasionally.

just pure lurk. its still the best place for foreign news despite the open white supremacy.

I don't use it + my profile says I'm "offline"

Stopped using when Elon took over. Didn't delete bc of the unlikley chance someday he loses it and I want to go back. Joined in Feb '09 and had a great network there, but that "Twitter" is long gone.

I deactivated my X account to try this out, I realised even though Elon is in charge, the censorship remains.

i don’t actively use mine, I just pop in now and then to check trends. But definitely not deactivated though.
