In a twist of cosmic irony, the Svalbard seed repository built in Norway in 2008 to preserve crop seeds from climate change flooded because… the surrounding permafrost melted due to climate change.

Thankfully the seeds seem to be ok for now. But with the Arctic warming four times faster than the global average, I don’t know that we can say the same of our planet

You would have thought they would have thought about such a scenario

Maybe they thought humanity would be smarter and prevent climate change from happening 🤷‍♂️
