In a twist of cosmic irony, the Svalbard seed repository built in Norway in 2008 to preserve crop seeds from climate change flooded because… the surrounding permafrost melted due to climate change.

Thankfully the seeds seem to be ok for now. But with the Arctic warming four times faster than the global average, I don’t know that we can say the same of our planet

Interesting article. Disturbing that they didn't protect it from flooding or anticipate that, but it was in 2017 and I wonder what the next few years hold for it.
