Weird how just showing up regularly and doing your thing can influence people in powerfully snowballing ways. It matters less to people what you do than that you do it reliably. If I were starting blogging today and could magically choose between one guaranteed viral hit article and 100 kinda decent articles that I could drip out weekly over a year I’d pick the latter every single time. The thought experiment is not quite right since you’re conditioning your own behaviors too, not just the reader’s but you get the point. Your behavior should be part of somebody else’s habits.

Something interesting is that consistency is valuable even if frequency is low, but demands higher thoroughness. So, 1 thorough essay per year, for even 3-4 years is surprisingly impactful with simply a dash of distribution.
