I suspect the tsmc model is actually short-sighted and unsustainable even in Asia and the management model itself needs to be reimagined in a more American idiom.

Doesn't surprise me Americans don't like being treated the way the people building our electronics have been treated. Need to impress on them that their success may majorly impact maintaining global multipolarity. Maybe the USG could subsidize them getting extra vesting shares.

I don’t think this is that sort of culture clash. I think TSMC is more Morris Chang culture than Taiwan culture. Like Amazon is more Bezos culture than American.
