Walk everyday. Eat fruit and/or veggies before each meal. I think you already do these. My standards have just been lower. I can jog a little bit without my knees hurting for the first time in years.

Oh yeah… and I can run a couple of miles etc too. I think it’s just not enough to feel fit near 50. You have to work 2x harder/smarter somehow to experience same subjective fitness/well-being level. Maintenance of a fixed strength/cardio/mobility standard just gets harder. Gotta keep lowering standards 😖

Also I think consistency when younger helps a lot. I’ve been guilty of bursts of enthusiasm punctuated by long periods of neglect. Shoulda started getting real serious at 40 when my baseline was good.

I have been going to orange theory 4x a week for the past 18 mos. Lost 30# and am in the best shape since my 20’s. Turning 65 in a few months. I like ot because it’s only 1 hour and I just need to show up and follow the instructions
