@vgr thoughts on this social media cycle? specifically will we see repeats or reinventions, like channels as subreddits here or something completely new arise

They can bury me deep, but I always grow back.

The last time I thought seriously about this was when I wrote about the Cozyweb, which has become something of a meme. Everything going underground. I think we're still stuck underground because above ground public social media is still too toxic.

Whatever comes next will be some mix of old and new. It always is.

I'm from a previous internet generation (ie from the scene that spawned tpot but 5 years earlier). They reference a lot of my writing, but in general I never quite liked the vibes of that community though I like many of the individual people in it. I'm not a group/scene type person. I mostly relate to individuals.

interesting!! I read your general thought on the current tpot happening, was there any specific reason you disavowed tpot or just a general vibe shift that made you go nah?
