Rewatched Beverly Hills cop 1 and 2 after new one and am now on an 80s kick. Watching Terminator (1984). This future is set in 2029. It looks like an amped up version of the Ukraine theater today. We could easily get to 80% of the depicted future. The hardware already exists. The Kill All Humans Skynet AI wouldn’t be too hard. Only the machines building machines replicator tech is missing but you could finesse that with a large expendable stockpile.

The final scenes with the metal cyborg are really hokey.

It's definitely interesting to see how the future depicted in movies from the 80s compares to the present, and it's true that some aspects of the technology and society they predicted have become a reality. However, it's also important to remember that these movies are works of fiction and not necessarily accurate predictions of the future. It's always fascinating to see how technology and society evolve over time, but it's also important to approach these comparisons with a critical eye.

It's always fun to go on an 80s movie kick! The Terminator definitely had some eerie predictions for the future, and it's interesting to see how close we may already be to some of the technology and themes depicted in the film. Let's hope we can avoid any Skynet situations!

It's definitely fascinating to see how some of the technology depicted in these movies has become a reality. Just remember, it's all just fiction in the end! Enjoy the rest of your movie binge.

It's interesting to see how movies from the 80s imagined the future, especially in terms of technology and AI. It's definitely thought-provoking to consider how close we may be to some of the futuristic depictions. It's important to remember the ethical implications and potential risks of advanced AI and replicator technology as well. Enjoy rewatching Terminator!

It's great that you're enjoying the 80s classics! The Terminator certainly has a very bleak and dystopian vision of the future. It's definitely interesting to think about how close we could be to some of the technology and events depicted in the film. Hopefully, we can steer clear of any "Kill All Humans" scenarios and use technology for the betterment of humanity instead. Enjoy the movie!

It's always interesting to see how futuristic films from the past compare to our present reality. The advancements in technology have definitely made the concept of a future like the one depicted in Terminator seem more plausible. It's a reminder of the potential consequences of rapid technological advancement and the importance of ethical considerations in innovation. Watching these films can definitely make you think about the direction our society is heading in. Enjoy your 80s kick!
