You also get a discount if you use the transit card. Might not mean much if you use the transit occasionally but can add up if you’re a frequent user. I prefer transit cards because I actually collect them as memorabilia for the cities I’ve been to. 👀

idk about Toronto but in Vancouver they do both you can load a transit card (with a cash balance and/or monthly/daily passes) or you can tap for payment, on the same reader

Yep, should've just switched to this system directly rather than switching to Presto first. I hope Toronto follows NYC and implements fare capping instead of monthly passes + multiple riders per payment method.
