My $0.02 is that web3 social (like much of web3 consumer) is going to continue to languish until it realizes that it needs to create products that are focused on women *first*. And not the pink crypto/"women in web3" nonsense... but actually making products that women would give a shit about.

What's your core assumption here? Women are inherently more social?

This is a great perspective. One of the topics that keep coming up in /bcard is that we want a brand that is less "masculine" than the typical web3 branding, and that can be really difficult. Web3 is incredibly masculine IMHO, and if we want to open it up we need to make it more appealing to women.

pretty hot take tbh However your take does have merit. Had a professor tell me years ago when building a grassroots game dev community at uni that I "need to get women in first" ..it was because sausage-fests aren't fun, basically. Stuck with me a bit.

good take what products would you focus on? I'd imagine some type of CPG product that women need recurring or often

Honestly when I stop to reflect I do notice a lot of the consumer initiatives on farcaster being driven by primarily women. @ted @kugusha.eth @cybershakti @pichi and a lot more! There’s enough infra, we need consumer if we truly want to onboard the next million.

This is so true. The men go where the women are, not vice versa.

I would say a biased opinion, I think as soon as users start realizing the threats and advantage of owning their social profile and data, things will start to change + the UI has to be like instagramishhhh.
