What did you guys do to game devs. Like, seriously. Every single website for game stuff — assets, UIs, SFX — "All content present on this website is explicitly prohibited from being employed in any manner pertaining to AI asset generation, machine learning or cryptocurrency initiatives."

humongous overlap between gaming communities and reddit. the only acceptable opinion over there is that everything crypto/AI is a complete scam meanwhile they are cucked on a regular basis by game companies.

I get a general frustration with AI, crypto, and hyperfinancialization. But where I am totally bemused is when they do this "I am sharing with everyone but YOU 🫵" thing

honestly makes perfect sense to me, they have a very clear mental model of the “tech bro” or “crypto bro” and how they’re the enemy, the reason they’re poor, etc.

But why not sell it and exclude people then I’ve seen type foundries do this too like where the license prohibits use in NFTs — it’s in the purchase agreement It’s so grating to me on a FREE object — like if you want to impose these conditions then charge!

haha I think it’s just a “fuck you” gesture because they know crypto/AI people have the funds and it’s a trivial purchase but yes I totally agree that it’s petty and stupid lmao, take the money

also just hive mind dynamics at play imo. isolate the individuals from these groups and talk to them in DMs and you’ll see how much softer their actual stance is
