Eclipse attacks are the only ones we're worried about - where you run a bunch of nodes that ignore other users. There's no deterministic solution but there are a lot of strategies like peer scoring and trusted snapshots that we can use to find and remove bad actors.

At the protocol level, I think we will have to use the same fee for everyone. The goal will be to keep it as low as possible while scaling up hubs, so that everyone can participate. Ideally we can get it sub $1. Apps can also sponsor fees for good users they identify.

The problem is mostly due to the graph size which keeps growing. I think the best solution will be freezing parts of the graph like older data to prevent changes, which will reduce the space you need search for missing deltas.
