Because it helps when you lose your seed phrase? If you want to share account access, create an app key. Sharing seed phrase is a no no.

You shared the seed phrase , they can just transfer the fid and reset the recovery address, no? If you make the seed public they have direct control of the account and recovery onchain

"because everything is open source" client open sourcing is performative, full backend open sourcing is true commitment. that's when you know if algos have any biases or weights. we don't do it because its likely that spammers can reverse engineer our heuristics and make the app a lot worse for good users. bluesky doesn't do it either, probably for similar reasons.
