I wonder how many people this will disqualify. I don’t use X and my GitHub is only for Farcaster and it’s less than 18 months old because I haven’t been on Farcaster for 18 months. So the way I read this, I will be ineligible starting next week. Even if you don’t care about rewards and airdrops, knowing your engagement will suffer and your replies will be shown lower is kind of a knife in the gut. https://warpcast.com/v/0xb8cc3d40

Most of my accounts on X got deplatformed because I dared to talk about cannabis reform by posting draft copies of new bills. It’s why I came here: to experience web3 social free of censorship and algorithms deprioritizing my voice because it challenged that status quo.

Introducing these dependencies severly limits the number of people who are eligible for verifications (and therefore the benefits that come with them) I sympathize bc this is a tough problem to solve but it also could end up making the experience worse for power users bc they don't have these accounts or if they do have these accounts, they're very sparse/minimal since they're not very active
