I wonder how many people this will disqualify. I don’t use X and my GitHub is only for Farcaster and it’s less than 18 months old because I haven’t been on Farcaster for 18 months. So the way I read this, I will be ineligible starting next week. Even if you don’t care about rewards and airdrops, knowing your engagement will suffer and your replies will be shown lower is kind of a knife in the gut. https://warpcast.com/v/0xb8cc3d40

Introducing these dependencies severly limits the number of people who are eligible for verifications (and therefore the benefits that come with them) I sympathize bc this is a tough problem to solve but it also could end up making the experience worse for power users bc they don't have these accounts or if they do have these accounts, they're very sparse/minimal since they're not very active

I’m definitely concerned. I know the Coinbase Wallet Team is working hard and the Cura team is working hard but we all know the cold hard truth is most people engage with Farcaster through Warpcast and taking an engagement hit because of a new system will severely alienate existing users and make onboarding new folks even harder. How many non devs do you know with a GitHub account? I’m sure this is a 1% of users problem. I’d bet most people have ancient X accounts. Maybe someone will sell me theirs.
