Should we make Warpcast's spam categorization publicly available? Image a 5 category system for every account: not spam, maybe not spam, unknown, maybe spam, definitely spam. What would you do with this if it was available today?

The main hesitations here is that spammers can use real-time rankings to find ways to avoid labels. But if its useful to people we should make it public.

Doesn't "find ways to avoid labels" just mean behave in less spammy ways? It's generally useful for good actors to know if the platform labels them as potential spammers and what they can do to avoid such labeling so I'm 100% for it (and not even talking about how devs/other clients can benefit from this)

> behave in less spammy ways no, you can find ways to avoid the labels for longer while being spammy if you understand how the system works.

true but it's still a tradeoff between good actors knowing why their content is not being seen and bad actors having more info. I'd say in an open system more transparency is better, and devs can help supplement the tools to capture bad actors (hard to do if devs don't know how the platform works either)

an under appreciated problem with spam is that many people who think they are good actors are spammy and get reported / blocked / muted often.

do you think that if people who think they're good actors get feedback that they're actually being spammy would look for ways to game the system, or look for ways to be less spammy? I'd say probably the latter.

I def know some latters but wasn't there a warning system in place now as well? How do people behave that got these warnings? I like @abundance's way of thinking but I was a spammer before (without being spammy imho)
