Founders talk about PMF as if it's a result of throwing features at a wall until something sticks. These same founders aren't starting with a solution to a real pain point of a real user. It seems more founders push solutions rather than pulling them; why? Pulling has proven the more effective approach handedly.

It depends. Consumer is about discovering a new underserved behavior but unlikely something that people can tell you (stated vs. revealed preference). My more straightforward in SaaS / enterprise to build a product that solves a stated problem.

Nikita bier (and Alex kwon here) seem to launch and if it doesn’t hit they do something else.. Nikita said if it’s not #1 try something else Others iterate on the same idea (farcaster) I tried to iterate the same niche (identity) and never had pmf tbf

Pulling requires you to put the laptop down and go talk to people. Not nearly as fun as writing code. But also, pulling is really difficult. People lie to themselves all the time, so their stated preferences can often be as baseless as whatever blind solution the dev founder was writing in the first place.
