Someone just attempted to scam me by phone/email claiming to be CB support. After calling them out I asked how they had a [email protected] email, and he said he had buddies on the inside who let him have it. 1) wtf 2) wtf

No matter how good your security protocols are, all it takes is some idiot working for you getting social engineered. Or, maybe in this case, just letting your friend use your email!

Ok that is messed up. I signed up for @coinbase about a week ago for base/farcaster, I never had a cb acct and a few days later I got the first ever spam text on my phone claiming to be coinbase wallet support. They have some serious issues to work out.

Email addresses can be spoofed pretty easily, although the spoofed emails are just as easily caught by spam filters via SPF checks.

do you have a .eml /.msg of the email from them? open in a text editor might get some clues if it is sent from a particular location / mail service
