a friend of a friend killed himself tonight. his suicide note is public on Facebook and I read the whole thing - he lost his girl, was in soul-crushing debt and a shot credit score because of it, his adhd wouldn't let him process and regulate emotions normally. I felt every word in my soul. it could have been me.

i found myself flirting with this line, and i had to make drastic measures to make sure my kids' mother was around for them. I got deep into the woo and cold turkey quit my corporate job 1 year ago. i am only here today because I slowed down -- below the pace of everyone around me, to wait and listen. and to return to waiting and listening when I forgot what I was doing and distracted myself again. and repeat. 42ily
