fwiw I spent summer of 2019 at Amazon and this tracks w the vibe I got. Further, I’ve experienced implicit and explicit biases/comments/questions about my presumed inability to understand technical things + numbers in almost every professional context I’ve been in once people learn I’m ex-Army.

I think it’s one of those “common knowledge that nobody knows where it came from” kinda thing Could also be a remnant of “my one interaction with a vet in the workplace is right after they get out of the military” so it stands out bc they feel like a different culture
