fwiw I spent summer of 2019 at Amazon and this tracks w the vibe I got. Further, I’ve experienced implicit and explicit biases/comments/questions about my presumed inability to understand technical things + numbers in almost every professional context I’ve been in once people learn I’m ex-Army.

Amazon turnover is over 100%, right? "...not because it hates. crocodiles don't feel hate. but because it is driven purely by financial interest, having long since melted its value system" resonates so much right now.

math holds up, a 5% retention rate over a few years is shockingly low—especially for a company that heavily promotes its commitment to hiring veterans. It really makes you question how much of their veteran-friendly branding is just PR spin versus actual
