does anyone know why guys sometimes say “as a man” before or after they say a normal statement that has nothing to do with being a man

this might be the most insightful “as a man” comment i’ve heard

as a man, i've always felt it was because about trying to reach the minimum word count requirements

Just a dude who loves birds /songbirdz /birds

but it’s literally always something like

“as a man i always try to be a good person”

Probably just a defense mechanism so they can say something they think is controversial

idk but i kinda wanna start saying "as an evil woman"

existential dread leaking out around the edges.
