i’m all for putting content onchain and bringing new creators into the space, but we’ve got to stop chasing narratives that only last a few days: scenecoins, smartcoins, now contentcoins most of the people hyping contentcoins today were doing the same for rodeo a few months ago, calling it the new way to create and reward onchain content short hypes don’t bring people onchain. they push them away. CT comparing this to clanker or pump dot fun kinda says it all let’s keep experimenting, but if every dashboard ends up like this, we’re not really evolving

I think we just cannibalize the same people here. Most dashboards look like this to me because the core group of folks here is smaller than we’d like to admit. I hope I’m wrong but it feels like everything pops like this and then the next thing grabs attention.

rodeo is a great platform; it received attention due to the strong word of mouth for user experience i agree contentcoin vs. memecoin is debatable, but it doesn't take away the proposition zora is offering, which is very much a differentiator from rodeo

yeah if there’s no long term value than why even do it our apps are also still too complex and too few people overall

Isn’t this what exploration and testing pmf looks like? To test ideas, you need many people to come in and give it a shot. And if they don’t stick around then you haven’t found product market fit. Agree that often the marketing language may be sensational but eventually the chart will be a hockey stick instead of a momentary flash

It’s the churn that’s killer. Real creators want tools they can depend on, not speculative waves they have to surf weekly

On the plus side, those hype cycles are not even long enough to get non-crypto people interested, let alone onboard them. Otherwise fully agreed with the sentiment.

Personally, I think the only good coin for a community is a free one. Allowing people to freely collect them and then building opportunities atop it lets creators get creative as they always do in generating value. The ideal speculative asset class for a creator would be one that participates in the revenue generation of that creator. But that's still technically illegal (at least in the states) for the time.

And then everyone joins the hype late and calls it a scam

I Totally hear you,and yeah, the hype cycles are exhausting. But I’d argue the experimentation is still valuable, even if most of it fails. Every “contentcoin” or clanker clone might not be the answer, but they’re part of the process of figuring out what actually sticks. That said, we do need to start asking: are we iterating, or just rebranding the same play over and over?
