Yes, but they don't pay to use social media, and now you're asking them to. Maybe people who already pay for Twitter are ok with it, but Redditors are going to need a lot of convincing to start paying.

Reddit gold is entirely optional. It gives you some very minor things on top of what's already free, but you can still use the platform just fine without paying for anything.

So am I. That's why I'm here. But if you want to scale this platform, you're going to run into a lot of people who aren't fine with having to pay. Just getting people to commit their time to get used to your platform is a big ask, to say nothing of asking for their money.
